What is a pithi?
Pithi: The pithi ceremony is an auspicious ritual performed for good luck. Generally, the bride and groom have separate pithi ceremonies at their family homes. Pithi is a paste made mainly of turmeric, chickpea flour and rose water. The bride only goes through a bit of pithi by her family and friends, however, the groom gets the worst of it! After the pithi was done, the couple changed into something more glamorous and danced the night away!
